"Gérard Depardieu: Drama in the Heart of Summer!"
pg 2

Of course, during these hours of anguish, Carole watched day and night tenderly over him. Man of all excesses, the actor has a strong reputation for good living. That is already not without risks. But especially, at fifty-one years, at his frantic work pace. After having embodied Jean Valjean in Les Misérables, a cruel dressmaker in 102 Dalmatians, a big cook in Vatel, one waits for him in Hunchback of Notre-Dame, Astérix, the return and Le Placard, by Francis Weber, which he was supposed to begin filming in September. Without forgetting that he has just finished the filming of Vidocq. In short, this trouble is a serious warning for such a bulimic!

And then Gérard has other worries, unfortunately. First, his son, Guillaume's, health. Guillaume was in Spain for the filming of
Love, Curiosity, Prozacs and Doubts, and seemed in fine shape. Élise, whom he married six months ago, had come to join him in Madrid and the lovers had benefited by passing some happy days there. However Tuesday July 4,  Guillaume was the victim of a serious malaise and was taken in emergency to Bougival. Fatigue? Stress? Overworking? "He took a medicinal overdose", explained his mom, on the microphone of Europe n° 1. According to the latest news, he is on the way to recovery.

Some hours before the drama, he tasted with Carole the joys of swimming

July 8, it was Elisabeth's toun to live a real nightmare. Toward 2:30 in the morning, she was awakened in her house in Bougival, in the Yvelines, by the luminous bundle of a pocket-size lamp aimed on her by two burglars. In no time at all, she was tied up with electrical cord.  More dead than alive, she saw the two men stealing her jewelry, her pictures, her cash on hand, as well as two bronzes of Rodin, valued at 900,000 francs.

Nights of terror

It was an especially traumatic attack in that she had already been the victim of one theft of jewelry last September. Then she had been absent when the burglary had perpetrated the break-in. But for several weeks she had lost sleep, anguished by the idea that someone was in possession of a duplicate of her keys. And this most recent night of terror, she will not soon forget!

His only consolation is that his daughter Julie has been saved from this awful thriller novel! Let's ask the heavens that it stops there!
