Plot Summary: David appears to be your ordinary white-collar worker, living a quiet life in a small apartment. But every weekend he disappears, saying he's going to care for his invalid parents. David isn't caring for his parents, he's driving to the mountains where he's building a chalet for his childhood sweetheart, Lise. The only problem is that Lise is married to someone else and has just had a child.
David's neighbor in his apartment building, Juliet, falls for the poor lug, going so far as to spy on him. She tries to convince him that Lise is never going to change her mind, but David continues to call and write Lise, plaguing her and her husband. When Lise's rejection becomes painfully real for David, he goes around the bend, making this a thriller somewhat akin to The Collector or Fatal Attraction (in theme if not in effectiveness).
